If there are any other bodies available from this “era”, please make it know to the Race Director for approval. No “Touring Car” wings allowed!! Some of these bodies come with a rear deck “spoiler” which may be installed on the body. No wing is allowed whether the body set comes with one or not. Bodies must be cut not higher than the body manufacturer’s cut line(s). No “slammed” bodies allowed!!

All cars must have three (or more) racing numbers affixed. These numbers must be affixed to both sides of the car and on the hood. A fourth number on the trunk is optional. The actual number is of the entrant’s choice but should look like the racing numbers found on cars of the late ‘60’s or early ‘70’s era.

While not mandatory, it would be nice if the bodies are painted in a “period authentic” manner as regards colors and schemes. This doesn’t mean the body has to be painted to duplicate a particular “real” race car from that era, merely that the body should LOOK like something one MIGHT have seen back then. Fluorescent paints, wild graphics, etc hadn’t been invented yet. If you look at the cars on the Historic Trans Am site (http://www.trans-amseries.com/) you can get an idea of what cars from this era looked like. As you can see, fairly simple paint schemes were the norm. It’s not our intent to be absolute sticklers on this point, but it WOULD be nice…

Competitive Racing

We will keep the racing competitive by using weight penalties for those racers finishing in the top 3 spots in each A main. We will require the addition of 100 grams to first place, 80 grams to second place and 60 grams to third place before competing the next race day. Those drivers will then be responsible to weigh in at their new target level at each new race day. If a racer keeps finishing in the top three at each A main their target weight will also continue to go up. These additions of weight to the top 3 finishers will continue after each race through out the year. We will use the weight penalties to keep the racing fair and close for all drivers.

Points will be given out in a tiered fashion as well. First place will be given 100 points, second place will receive 90, third place receives 80 points and fourth place through last will receive points from 70 and less in increments of 5. I.E. a 6th place finisher will receive 60 points and a 7th place finisher will receive 55 points.
